Electrical Engineering Related Knowledge: Precautions for Using Low-Voltage Distribution Boxes
Strict management and proper use of low-voltage distribution boxes are essential measures to reduce electrical accidents. To ensure effective management and use, the principle of "hierarchical management and line-specific management" must be implemented, with clear regulations and defined responsibilities for each entity.
(a) The equipment and power department shall number, register, and file each low-voltage distribution box. Regular technical inspections and measurements shall be conducted.
(ii) Maintenance electricians should inspect the distribution box. If any component is found to be overheating, the cause should be identified. Loose wiring should be tightened. Dust and debris inside the box should be cleaned up in a timely manner to keep it clean.
(iii) Operators shall not pile or hang workpieces or other items within 1.2 meters in front of the distribution box. Water shall not accumulate around the distribution box. Non-electricians shall not disassemble or install electrical components.
(iv) It is strictly forbidden to switch on or off under load, so as to avoid creating an excessive electric arc that could burn out the power distribution components or cause burns or scalds to the operators.
